Mentoring

At The Inner Game with PJ, our mentoring programmes are designed to help young people develop the mindset, emotional intelligence, and self-belief to thrive — both on and off the pitch.

Drawing on sports psychology, leadership, and lived experience, PJ creates safe, engaging, and motivating spaces where young athletes can grow in confidence, resilience, focus, and discipline.

Our mentoring can be delivered in a variety of settings:

Group Mentoring

Interactive small-group sessions that encourage teamwork, communication, and shared learning. Ideal for academies, schools, and clubs wanting to build a strong, positive culture and develop leadership qualities across teams.

🧍‍♂️ 1:1 Mentoring

Personalised sessions tailored to the individual’s needs — helping young players build self-awareness, manage emotions, and set meaningful goals. Each session focuses on developing the “inner game” — the mindset that drives performance and wellbeing.

🏫 School-Based Mentoring

Delivered within schools and alternative education settings, these sessions support students who may benefit from additional guidance in areas such as emotional regulation, motivation, or confidence.
PJ works collaboratively with pastoral teams to help young people understand themselves better, make positive choices, and re-engage with learning through sport, psychology, and mentoring.
